Richmond, Virginia, February 19, 2021 – Dudley Resources announces Departure Bike Works founder, Lee Clemens’, retirement and the sale of inventory at his shop’s former Hull Street location. Following Clemens’ retirement, Departure Bike Works relocated and inventory from the former location will be sold through Dudley Resources’ custom sales platform, ending on March 1, 2021. This platform offers an innovative new way to sell assets, enabling sellers to offer up assets worldwide.

Founded in 1973, Departure Bike Works has long been an authority on the Richmond motorcycle scene. Upon the shop’s founding, the custom bike scene was relatively new on the East Coast. Bikers who custom-built their bikes were considered outcasts – not taken seriously by the Harley Davidson Dealerships that dominated the landscape.

Clemens and his team brought a new perspective to the Richmond area. Their shop departed from the harsh societal dichotomy and began building and working on quality custom bikes for bike enthusiasts. Departure focused on making their bikes ‘the old-fashioned way’ – by hand. Over time, they gained experience and authority by creating some of the most quality and reputable custom bikes on the East Coast. The shop has been recognized by multiple networks and media outlets for its quality craftsmanship and one-of-a-kind custom builds.

All parts in the Departure shop are ones personally used by employees. The Departure Bike Works’ team has the hands-on experience to vouch for every part included in the shop’s inventory. Each part has been hand-picked and tested over time for quality.

This auction includes many incredible and unique pieces of the shop’s history. Items for sale include personalized bikes as well as full customs, parts, and accessories. The most notable items include two fully custom bikes, a 1994 FLT-Harley Davidson, and a 1973 CB 750 Honda. This one-of-a-lifetime auction is sure to attract bike enthusiasts from around the world.

Bidding for this auction is now available online and ends at 2:00 PM EST on March 1, 2021.
